Speakers popping on Inspiron i7559

Hello!

I've gotten the Inspiron i7559 with 1TB HDD a few days ago and everything has been phenomenal except for the speakers, which make a tiny high pitched staticy popping sound whenever I launch some applications like Hearthstone and Skype, as well as some videos on youtube. The speaker otherwise works fine, I don't know what causes it. Is there any possible fix to it? Is it a hardware or a software issue?

Latency in Dell Inspiron i7359-8404SLV.

I bought this laptop.

didn't install anything but the original Win 10.

Run latency check and got values more than 1000. With make sound to "stuck" from time to time. (see picture)

I intend to use it as a DJ computer.

Is anyone knows how can I lower the latency.

I took the laptop to Dell laboratory but they told me all HW are working fine , and it's not their problem.

Thank you,

Hanan

Static noise from audio speakers - Dell XPS 13 9350

Hi, I bought Dell xps 13 9350 two weeks ago from Microsoft store. I read that I am not the only one who is having this issue.

I have no option going to dell tech support, because I live in Kyrgyzstan. Laptop was delivered to me from California by relatives.

Can you say what parts inside should be replaced or isolated, so I can go to local master and solve this issue. Thanks

SoundBlaster Recon3Di Microphone Array not responding to input

So I'm new to this forum stuff, so apologies if I've posted in the wrong area.

I have been having some issues with the microphone input on my Alienware M14x R2 since upgrading to Windows 10. I can use any headsets with mics that I have, it doesn't recognise any voice or sound. I have used the Windows troubleshooter and it says the device is working properly and the driver is up to date.

I obviously didn't believe this so I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from the Dell website (found the link on the Microsoft website). This enabled me to use the Sound Blaster Control Panel but still no luck even after turning off the CrystalClear enhancement.

I went onto the dell website and ran their tests. This, for some reason, allowed me to hear a very faint output from my mic jack, but not the microphone array jack.

i then done an Echo/Sound Test on skype with my headset connected into the mic jack, but no output from this.

Anyone have any ideas to help me try fix this? Or am I out of luck and have to get a repair, I'm out of warranty :(

USB to optical spdif adapter - composite, not toslink

Hi, I'd like to connect my laptop to my stereo, via the DAC component. I've learned that the 3.5mm headphone output on our M4500 and M4700 does not have spdif. Does anyone know of another solution, like a usb device that simple has spdif "composite" out. This wouldn't be a converter, just a way to pass a data signal from the laptop into a cable going to our stereo.

Note, this is optical spdif "composite" and not "toslink."

Thanks, Dave

No Audio Output Device Installed

Morning all. I'm hoping someone out there will be able to assist me, first a little back story. I recently bought a Dell Latitude E5520 laptop running Windows 7, 64-Bit, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD.

I received the laptop on Wednesday last week. The first thing I did was to update Windows and all the Dell Software. The laptop was working well without any problems. However earlier this week, when I tried to watch a video on YouTube, only to find there was no sound. Upon further investigation I found the speaker icon is shown with a Red "X", and when I hover the mouse over it,  a message of "No Audio Output Device Installed" would appear. This has only happened within the last few days because I watched some football on the laptop at the weekend using the internal speakers for match commentary. As far as I'm aware there's been no software installed that would have lead to this problem.

Working with computers a lot, I know my way around, so I then went to Device Manager to look for any faults. I looked under the "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and found only Bluetooth Audio was listed, which I thought was a little strange. However under the "System Devices" section I found that the HD Multimedia Audio Device had a yellow exclamation mark over it. Selecting it revealed it had failed to start (Code 10). Suspecting this was the root of my problem, I tried to Update the Driver. After a while of checking online, the message received back informed me that the installed driver was up to date, therefore it couldn't be updated, not what I wanted to hear!

One of the things I've tried was to go into the "Services" section, then in the "Extended" tab scrolled down to "Windows Audio". From here I found that the Audio Service had started, and was set to start automatically. I've then stopped the service, and restarted it, again hoping to cure the problem, but again no change.

I've asked Google for other solutions, most of which amounts to reinstalling the sound driver, which I've tried but nothing seems to work. As a last resort I ran the Diagnostic tool from the Bios Menu, and everything passes correctly, yet I still have no sound from the laptop speakers.

Can anyone advise anything else to try, before I need to return the laptop to Dell?

Many Thanks in advance

New Sigma Tel driver has Stereo Mix - XP and W2K only

Looks like Dell quietly rolled out a new Sigma Tel audio driver (12/4/07) with the stereo mix option enabled.  XP and Windows 2000 only.

Fine with me.  My Vista install disks are still sitting on the shelf.  Tested it on my E1505 with XP and it works fine.  And it gives me my line-in back which, on the hacked drivers, only gave me mic-in functionality...with little control over the input volume.  There's no EQ, or some of the other options in the hacked version, but I'll take it.

I guess the lesson is with Dell if you holler, gripe, and hack, maybe a year and a half later, they'll listen...sorta.  One would think Vista drivers would soon be out...maybe.

I'll always be grateful to the intrepid forum members who found the alternate drivers, helped countless users, including me, through the install, and stayed around to answer questions.

And faint praise for Dell who finally listened to their users.  Now get those Vista drivers out there.

Sound coming from my headphones and speakers simultaniously - Alienware M17x R4

I have a rather annoying thingy with my laptop.
When I do something on my laptop where noise is involved ( play games , play music , etc. etc. ) and I have ear plugs / headphones inserted , the sound is coming out of both my speakers and my headset.
I do not know how long I already have the problem, I discovered it today when I took my headphones off for a moment. Do any of you know how I can fix this? So that if I insert my headphones , the sound just goes through the headphones and not through the speakers at the same time.
I Googled for a while now but I cant find a way to solve it. (Im not a PCs / laptops expert) ... I use an Alienware M17x R4 with Windows 10. I have already tried to update the drivers , remove and restart to reset them but nothing seems to work, PLEASE HELP! ... Thanks in advance.

Dell Inspiron 15 7559 No Audio

Just got my computer back from Dell tech support having sent it because of an issue with no audio output device installed and the red x on the toolbar. The computer is in the exact same state as before I sent it with nothing fixed. I've tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times, checked if audio services were running and all of that. Feels like a huge waste of money at this point and is especially disappointing because this computer was actually a gift for someone. Has anyone had this issue with this computer and have it resolved without resorting to an external usb sound driver?

When headphones are plugged in I hear sounds twice, please help me.

Sudden defective sound in speakers until reboot - XPS 13 (9343)

Hi,

I have the XPS13 (9343) laptop for almost a year now.

In the last week i'm suffering a weird issue, in which my speakers suddenly like "change their quality" to a very low one. Whatever sound I play (windows chimes / youtube music) - the sound is distorted and metallic. The even stranger thing is, that the problem consists also when I plug in headphones, so it should be a software issue I suppose.

After restart, the problem is solved, until the next time.

I have latest Realtek drivers and ran the Dell Support checkup few times.

Thanks in advance!

Inspiron 7559 refuses to enable external mic (speakers work fine)

Hi

I have a new inspiron 7559 (about a month old), windows 10, everything updated, no interfering antivirus, etc.

Since the start, I've been unable to use my external mic. I have a headset with a microphone, on one of those mic+speaker combined 3.5mm plugs. When I plug it in, the sound system detects my headset just fine and routes sound to it.

It kinda bugs me that the system doesn't show the individual devices to windows for finer control, and instead just reports a single audio device, but ok fine, I can understand that from a technical POV.

The real problem though is that no matter what I do, only the built-in microphone is used, never my external one on the 3.5mm plug. It doesn't show up as a device, there's no setting for it in the sound system, and the system doesn't switch to it automatically when it's plugged in. I just cannot get any sound from it (no, it isn't broken).

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

No Wave MaxxAudio on Dell Inspiron

Hey so I have a Dell Inspiron 15R-5521 (i believe is the model) with windows 7 and I just wiped everything and reinstalled windows 7.  Everything is working pretty well other than when I plug in an auxiliary cord it doesnt play through the speakers, just keeps playing through laptop speakers and I dont have the MaxxAudio program that the computer came with anymore which made the audio much better quality too.  So is there anyway to get that program back and get my speakers working?

Thanks

Hello. I have a dell inspiron N5110 and today I had a problem where my audio stopped working out of nowhere and also my videos are loading but there is no playback. This happens in Google Chrome. In Firefox, the audio does not work either but the videos are playing just fine. How can I fix this? I already restarted my laptop once and the issue returned. Thank you.

P.s. My laptop is 4 yrs old. Should I do a system restore to fix all these problems that keep coming up? Thank you.

No Audio Output Device is Installed

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 running Windows 10 64-bit. It was fine for a month or so but last night suddenly audio stopped working with a message "No Audio Output Device is Installed," so I tried reinstalling the audio driver (downloaded from dell website named Audio_Driver_J0W2G_WN32_6.0.1.7737_A05) and it didn't work. Then I downloaded drivers from Reatek website and those didn't work either. I reinstalled a fresh (clean) copy of Windows 10 and it still wont recognize the audio device. Please help!

Thank you!
