Hi Team,

I just purchased Dell XPS 9350. Whenever I do full shutdown then boot, always video, audio (both online and local videos) via any browser, VLC, movies & tv app are not playing and its keep loading. It will resolve once I restart the system, so its consistantantly happening after every full shutdown then boot.

I found that it's because of Realtek HD Audio driver  (V6.0.1.7829) and system working perfectly after rolling back to HD Audio Device default driver. Please fix this.

Hello, my dell is getting some issues with its speakers, a kind of popping crackling noise, I've just registered two videos. After updating the bios it seems working better and is not as much as before. Should I rma my laptop or it's a driver issue? This is the first day that I have been using it.

after updating bios:

Waves MaxxAudio driver missing.

I recently did a factory reset after updating my Dell Inspiron 5558 to Windows 10 Anniversary Update (build 1607) and had installed all the latest drivers from the dell product support page. The problem is there is no Waves MaxxAudio driver installed in my laptop. The sound output is very low as the drivers are missing. Earlier, there was a control panel for managing audio devices in the taskbar (Dell Audio) which also had Waves MaxxAudio enhancements linked to the program. The Dell Audio software is still there but all the Waves MaxxAudio enhancements are missing. Kindly help me to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance!

Dell Inspirion 7559 headset problem

Hi.

I have an Inspirion 7559, only with a combined jack audio port. I would like to use my headset, which has 2 jack (speakers, and microphone) so I just bought an adapter like this. When I connect it, and set in Dell Audio as a "headset (with microphone)" the speakers works, but barely: only the right speaker has sound, so I have to move the jack a bit out to work fine. Furthermore, the microphone doesn't work at all, when I checking the input sound (in Teamspeak, or Steam) it only gives loud strange - static noise.

I have checked the windows audio options, there is only one recording tool which is the Realtek High Definiton Audio, but when I disconnect my headset from my computer, it is still there.

The headset and the adapter cable works fine with other computers. What can be the problem?

Hello, I have a Dell XPS 13 and today it doesn't detect any audio.

The speaker icon appears with a red cross.

And in sound devices and record devices it shows that there isn't any device.

Also in control panel > Devices it shows that it can't load the "Intel high Definition Audio" driver.

I've already updated the drivers from the dell update drivers page www.dell.com/.../drivers

Bad sound quality - Dell Inspiron 15 77537

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 7537 i7-4510U, 16.6" Touch. It had Windows 8.1 in it.

It has been working great so far, apart from one BIG problem - the audio playback quality is terrible.

When I try listening to music, I can barely hear any low-ends (or bass). I tried different plugging different equipment - my Sony stereo system, as well as, Beats Pro headphones - both yielded dissapointing results. For example, the same file played on my iPod sounds MUCH better than it does on my new Dell Inspiron. Same goes for playing the same YouTube video on another computer using the same headphones. It seems that every other equipment (another laptop, iPod, iPhone) all sound the same and much better my Inspiron.

The audio drivers are up to date (they were selected automatically based on my model on dell.com). I also tried changing Equalizers on the Realtek sound card settings. I noticed the difference, but all of the options still resulted in a vastly inferior sound quality vs. my older laptop (which I'm pretty sure has default settings, as I never had any problem with audio quality).

Does anyone have any idea how can I fix the issue? I heard Windows 8.1 on some laptops may have some problems with low-end sound, could that be the case? My older laptop also uses Windows 8.1, as does the stationary PC, so I personally doubt it. Is it possible that this could be a manufacturing defect on the sound card?

Any ideas how can I fix the sound quality are much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Marius

P.S. It's my first post here, so please be nice haha. Thanks!

Touchpad tap to click stops working XPS 13

The tap to click function on my touch pad will stop working randomly and start dragging the item around instead. Will then have to fully click down on the touch pad to navigate between tabs etc. The scroll function also stops at random, but after restart it all returns to normal until the next time it stops working. Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

Static noise after last big Windows Update!

Hello,

Although I've seen a lot of people reporting static noise from the speakers, I never had a problem with mine until the last big update (Windows 10 - Version 1607). It started right after the update's restart.

I've ran dell's diagnostic tool; nothing wrong.

The noise is there even when I disable the speakers.

I have brand new a Dell Inspiron 7559 (Core i5 model) which i received 2 days ago.  The inbuilt speakers work fine. But when I plug in my earphones, the is sound only on the left side and a very faint sound on the right one. When I check the left and right sound in the sound properties, both the test sounds appear on the left side only. The earphones I am using are Klipsch R6. And here are no issues with the earphones since they work perfectly with my phone and other Dell Inspiron laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Inspiron 15 7559 - Static "hissing" noise coming from speakers

On my brand new Inspiron 15 7559, I've noticed that there is a static "hissing" noise coming from the speakers whenever I do something that involves audio (playing a movie/game/etc).

The hissing noise is especially noticeable when I mute the volume in Windows.

As soon as I close the video/browser/game that the audio is coming from, the hissing stops as well.

The noise also stops when I plug in a pair of headphones.

I've tried the latest audio drivers, as well as the generic Windows audio drivers and the Realtek HD Audio drivers from Realtek's site, and the hissing noise happens with all of them. I have also updated my BIOS to the latest version

Has anyone else encountered this? I'm beginning to think it might be a hardware problem and I'm leaning towards returning the laptop.

Using HDMI port mutes audio to headphone/speaker output

I just purchased a 15R Special Edition 7520. I placed the laptop in a desktop situation (use ext. keyboard + mouse + HD 1920x1080 monitor). Obviously I want to use the HDMI output to link to the HD monitor, like I have done for many years with my XPS 1640 laptop with HD HDMI output. I was surprised to see that when the HDMI out put is used the audio to the speaker/headphone jack is muted. I have searched through all the on-board menus, but cannot find a setting to allow audio to continue being outputted while the HDMI jack is in use.

Am I missing something here? I assumed this laptop would operate the same as the XPS 1640, in applications where the operator is using an HD monitor in a desktop situation (no built in monitor speakers) or a situation where you desire to feed your own audio system directly from the Laptop. BTW, I also own a DELL ZINO HD desktop with HDMI output, which does not behave the same way the 15R does. That system isalso hooked vis HDMI to an HD monitor, with no muting of the local sound.

Am I the only one who as had thisd prob? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks... Paul...

Problem with latest Audio driver VR8Y0_WN32_6.0.1.7908_A03

I have a 2 months old Inspiron 7368. I have updated the driver because of cracking sound of the previous version. Now there is a new problem with the latest audio driver VR8Y0_WN32_6.0.1.7908_A03. When I plug in a cable in the combined audio in/out socket a dialog appears with options Speaker out, Dell Speaker out, Headset, etc. I choose SPEAKER OUT.

When I play audio there are no problems. But after the audio signal stops the driver switches off the line automatically 5 seconds afterwards. This causes incredibly strong noise in the PA system, to which the computer is connected. The noise continues even if I turn off the sound, so the only solution is to turn off the PA. You understand that this startles the audience, confuses me and creates a compete mess.

Please help, because I use the computer every day.

Best regards to you all.

Hello,

My Dell PC just installed a new Windows 10 update and my sound doesn't work anymore. It seems that there is suddenly no audio output device installed on my PC anymore. I checked the system and got a troubleshooting report.

What can it be and how can I solve this issue?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks, Steve

3rd party software broke speakers

Today I think to I done a big mistake to choose Dell as my laptop because Dell is the brand which only running in market by fooling the customers by their false tricks.

I think warranty for a dell product is just a prank.

I chose dell because i was told that Dell provide good quality to the consumer but all who told me was wrong.

It had been only 4 months to buy my laptop and my speaker gone silent when i call to Cnsumer care number then i was told that it was my software's fault which is run in LENOVO and HP laptops from past 4-5 years by my all friends.

If Dell is giving good quality then why Dell speaker get damaged in 3 months and Other laptop are not yet after 3 years.

My all friends, relatives are using that software only then why their speaker don't get damage.

Why my DELL only? Then how any one can say that DELL is good.

Dell said no to repair my laptop within the warranty. Now what should I do?

Its my first and the worst experience with Dell.

I am a boy belonging to a middle class its very hard to buy a laptop to us then only my father bought it for me.

I asked him to buy a cheaper laptop but he listened that Dell is best. so he buy dell by increaseing Rs.10,000 in the bugdet.

Now, how can i ask my father to pay 4-5 thousand more to repair it?

Please do something. I request you to do something. My father is a small business man owing a small groccy shop. He can't afford high expenses.

Hello.

I have a Inspiron 5520 with Win7 fully updated.

It doesn't detect the external mic when connected.

When I go to the recording devices properties this is what I get (in Portuguese, but I think it's clear):

And it is configured to show both deactivated and disconnected devices:

I reinstalled the audio drivers drivers but the problem remains.

What do you suggest?

Intermittent no audio on XPS 13 9343 (2015)

I am experiencing a problem where about 50% of the time I boot up my XPS 13 9343, I have a red X over the speaker icon and no audio.  If I mouse over the icon it says "No audio output device is installed."

Looking at the Realtek HW Audio Codec in Device Manager, it says:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful."
After seeing this, I uninstalled and deleted the driver through the Device Manager.  I re-installed the driver from the Dell site (9343_Audio_Driver_X22K2_WN32_7422.118.0_A01.EXE).  I am still experiencing the issue.

Is anybody else seeing the same thing?
